CBSE Assessment Structure and Evaluation comprise of two terms; Term 1 and Term 2.
TERM-1 First Half of the Academic Year (100 Marks)
20 Marks for Periodic Assessments + 80 Marks for Half Yearly Exams
TERM-2 Second Half of the Academic Year (100 Marks)
20 Marks for Periodic Assessments + 80 Marks for Yearly Exams
In the Yearly Examinations, for I-V, the entire syllabus of the Second Term will be covered. For Class VI, the entire syllabus of the Second Term plus 10% of the significant topics from Term 1 syllabus will be covered. For class VII, the entire syllabus of the Second Term plus 20% of the significant topics from Term 1 syllabus will be covered. For class VIII, the entire syllabus of the Second Term plus 30% of the significant topics from Term 1 syllabus will be covered.
Internal Assessment (20)
A student has to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks in each subject. Internal Assessment will be completed through
Periodic Written Tests – 5 marks
Multiple Assessments – 5 Marks
Portfolio – 5 Marks
(Class Work, Peer Assessment, Subject Achievement etc.)
Subject Enrichment Activity – 5 Marks
(Projects, Labs, Practical etc.)
Marks and Grades will be awarded for individual subjects. A student has secure at least 33% in each of the mandatory subjects, languages, Science, Maths and Social Science. 8-Point Grading will be followed.
